Life-embracing chansons at Savottakahvila Café
Savottakahvila Café in Laanila hosts musicians from Finland’s northernmost professional dance theatre, Rimppapremmi, featuring actor Joni Kuokkanen.
The concert consists of a selection of Jacques Brel’s thoughtful and theatrical songs, translated into Finnish. The songs include all aspects of life - love, death, and social perceptions. Even gloomy subjects are dealt with in the manner of Brel.
The assembly conductor, Jukka Nurmela , wants to bring the concert atmosphere close to the intimate and obscure gigs of Brel’s early career. In addition to Joni Kuokkanen, the line-up includes Nurmela on double bass, Henri Haakana on accordion and glockenspiel, and Kaisa Ristiluoma playing piano.
The Everyone Believes in Love concerts are on March 6th, 13th and 27th at 7 pm at the Savottakahvila Café.
